Projects and Activities
The activities of the Emmaus Family Association range from the design of architectural, pictorial and sculpture works to the realization of what has been designed. In addition, training courses are held for artists and art lovers.
Here is a list of our main activities:
PROJECTS
of Sacred Art and Sacred Places
Our Association has extensive experience in designing and realizing architectural, sculpture, mosaic and painting works.
Among our most recent orders:
- the construction of new churches, such as that of Santa Caterina in Ardea (Rome) and Nuestra Senora Maria Rosa Mistica (Peru ');
- consultancy for the renovation of existing structures such as for the Cathedral of Albano Laziale, in Albano (Rome) and for the Church of Saint Francis Xavier in India;
- the construction of new complexes, including not only the Church but also the Rectory and spaces for catechesis, teaching and sport (for example the center of Nostra Senora de la Misericordia in Peru ').
The Emmaus Family is also equipped with 2 Art Workshops:
1) an Icons Workshop, for the creation of Icons for every circumstance, from the decoration for a Church, to the memory of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation, and
2) a Sacred Tailoring Workshop, for clerical and religious tailoring.
FORMATION:
Art and Art Techniques Courses
Our Association offers courses in various artistic disciplines, from the History of Art to the mosaic technique, from painting and architecture.
The courses are of various levels and open to everyone, both artists and art lovers.

PERMANENT WORSHIP
We keep the tradition of Eucharistic Adoration alive in the beautiful Romanesque cathedral of San Siro and in the fascinating Church of the Immaculate Conception in Sanremo.

TECHNIQUE COURSE
OF THE MOSAIC
The aim of this course is to teach the main techniques for the preparation and realization of a small mosaic.
During the course, students will choose a subject to prepare, and will receive the tiles for the preparation of an A4-size mosaic

PRODUCTION COURSE
OF ICONS
After a brief excursus on the meaning of the Icon in the Christian tradition, the course teaches techniques of transposition of sacred images on wood and glass.
TRADITIONAL COOKING COURSE OF CHRISTIAN HOLIDAYS:
The Association offers traditional cooking courses of the Christian Holy Holidays, both in Italy and in the rest of Western and Eastern Europe. The purpose of the courses is to reinforce the meaning of the Christian tradition, as well as to put in people's hands the possibility of making bakery products, Panettone, Colomba, and sweets of the Orthodox tradition.
