Who we are
We are the Sisters of the Emmaus Family, also called "Blue Sisters".
We form a Public Association of the Faithful, canonically erected with a Decree of the Ordinary of the Diocese of Albano, on September 14, 2014, and definitively confirmed with a Decree of the Ordinary of the Diocese of Ventimiglia-Sanremo (IM) in Italy.
We live in a splendid city, called the "City of Flowers", that is, we have our headquarters in Sanremo (IM). We live a fraternal, sober and dignified lifestyle, just like a real family.
The experience lived by the Disciples of Emmaus, when they met and recognized the Risen One, constitutes the heart of our spirituality and of the concrete modalities of our works.
Community life
Community life alternates the space dedicated to prayer, to moments of work and moments of study. Furthermore, there is certainly no lack of moments of community leisure.
Prayer and adoration
Our spirituality first of all follows the official prayer of the Church: Lauds, Ora Media, Vespers and Eucharistic Celebration, and is based on the Benedictine spirituality of "Ora et Labora".
There are also spaces for community and personal adoration.
All this in the Romanesque Cathedral of San Siro and in the Oratory of the Immaculate Conception.
Art for the Holy Places
Typical of our charism and our spirituality is to take care of all those activities that make Christian places of worship beautiful and the active participation of the faithful in liturgical prayer and in understanding the mystery celebrated. Therefore we deal with all the artistic realities related to the sacred place, such as painting, sculpture, architecture, sacred music and sacred tailoring.
We also make ourselves available so that places of worship and celebrations are dignified and orderly.
